Hamilton, ON · Circuit Board Repair · Canada-Wide Mail-In
When something is written off as a "dead board", we repair the board itself — finding the chip, port or component that failed and replacing it under the microscope. Computers and consoles, yes, but also TVs, air conditioners, appliances, pool equipment and car ECUs. Repair the part, not the whole board.
Computers, consoles & phones
No power, no video, no charge and liquid damage — traced to the failed component and repaired instead of swapping the whole board.
HDMI port replacement, HDMI encoder chips, no power and shorted rails on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
Drifting thumbstick modules desoldered and replaced with TMR sticks, plus charging ports and failed buttons.
No power, water damage and charging faults on iPhone, Samsung and other boards — and getting photos off a phone that will not boot.
Loose, burnt or dead USB-C, MagSafe and micro-USB ports replaced at the board, along with the power circuitry behind them.
When a board can't be saved, the storage often can — chip-level recovery from drives, SSDs and devices that won't boot.
Beyond computers
A failed control board can make a perfectly good air conditioner, oven or hot tub look like it needs replacing. Replacement boards are often expensive, back-ordered or discontinued — but the fault is usually one burnt component. That's a micro-soldering repair.
No power, no picture, a TV that shuts itself off, or a dead HDMI or USB port. Board repairs only — we don't replace cracked screens.
Air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps that won't cool, won't heat, show error codes or have gone completely dead at the control board.
Ovens, fridges, washers, dryers and dishwashers — not heating, not cooling, no display or stuck on an error code. Commercial equipment too.
Engine control units and other automotive electronic modules with failed components, burnt traces or water damage.
Pool heaters, pumps, salt chlorinators and hot tub controllers that have stopped heating, throw error codes or won't power up.
If it has a circuit board and a fault, ask us. Industrial controllers, audio gear, power supplies — describe what it's doing and we'll tell you if it can be fixed.
Bring the board, not the appliance. For air conditioners, furnaces, appliances, pool equipment and cars, remove the control board and bring or ship us just that. Not sure which board it is? Call (289) 489-2513 and describe the symptoms first.
The work itself
Why it matters
Most shops — and most manufacturers — treat a board fault as a swap: the entire board is replaced, at a price that often makes repair pointless. But the actual failure is usually small. A shorted capacitor, a burnt power chip, a relay that finally gave out, a port that took one knock too many.
Micro-soldering targets that one failure. It typically costs a fraction of a replacement board, it works when no replacement board exists anymore, and on devices where storage is soldered to the board — every recent MacBook — it's also how you keep your files.

Common Questions
Micro-soldering is repairing a circuit board at the level of individual components — chips, connectors, capacitors and the tiny traces between them — under a microscope. Instead of replacing a whole logic board, motherboard or control board, the one part that failed is removed and replaced. It is the same work a factory does to build the board, done by hand on a single fault.
Far more than computers. Alongside laptops, MacBooks, consoles, controllers and phones, we repair circuit boards from TVs, air conditioners and furnaces, household and commercial appliances, pool and hot tub equipment, and car ECUs. If something has a circuit board and a fault, it is worth asking.
For anything large — an air conditioner, furnace, oven, washer, pool heater or a car — remove the control board and bring or ship us just the board. If you are not sure which board is faulty or how to remove it safely, call us first and describe the symptoms. For laptops, consoles, phones and TVs, bring the whole device.
Usually, yes. Replacement control boards are often expensive, back-ordered or discontinued altogether — especially for older appliances and HVAC units — while the actual fault is commonly one failed component. Repairing that part typically costs a fraction of a new board, and on devices with storage soldered to the board, it is also how you keep your data.
No. We repair TV circuit boards — no power, no picture, shutting off, and failed HDMI or USB ports — but we do not replace broken or cracked panels.
Yes — bring it in. Many shops only swap whole parts and call anything below that "unrepairable". Board-level faults are exactly the jobs we take on, and we will tell you honestly if a board is beyond repair.
